TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Español & English Private Tutoring (E&EPT) is hereby addressed as "we," "us," or "our," and students or clients are hereby addressed as "they," "them," "their," "student," or "students."

REGISTRATION

  1. The total registration fee is $51.75. $50 is the registration fee which includes the placement test and a discount of $15 on any of the lessons they want to purchase. There is a $1.75 extra fee due to the company that takes care of making sure that the transaction is secured.

  2. Once they pay the registration fee, we will contact them to set up a day and time for them to take their placement test.

  3. Once they take the placemat test, they will be able to start with classes depending on the service they want us to provide.

  4. If we cannot provide them the service they want, we will give them other alternatives or the $50 registration fee back if the student decides not to take the placement test. If the student takes the placement test, we will give them $15 back only.

  5. The extra fees have nothing to do with us, and these are fees related to the transaction. For this reason, we will not give the $1.75 extra back.

  6. If they want to use PayPal, they will have to contact us. Once we know, we will send them an invoice. PayPal charges 3.6% for transactions, and we will not refund PayPal's extra fee.

  7. If they want to pay with a check, it must arrive at least three business days before their placement test. For more information on payment methods, please go to the group classes section, point six, or go to the semi-private and private section, which also provides explanations for payment and payment methods.

GROUP CLASSES

  1. All new students are required to register before the classes commence. The registration fee will only be refunded if we do not have enough students to begin the lessons, which is a minimum of five. In such a scenario, we will initially offer our clients other services, such as semi-private and private lessons. If the student opts not to take any suggested services, we will refund $15 if the student took the placement test or $50 if the student did not.

  2. If enough new students enroll, they'll receive a $15 discount on their first semester. Additionally, they can use the discount on any other services we offer if they decide not to continue with group classes or if we cannot accommodate them into a group.

  3. Once a student has started the semester, they cannot cancel or reschedule any class, nor will they be eligible for a refund. This means that the course will continue to progress as scheduled, and we will not provide any reimbursement for missed classes. However, we will send homework assignments to help the student keep up with the course.

  4. If a student misses three or more classes in a row, they will have to take an oral test in English to make sure the student understands all of the concepts.

  5. The student needs to pay the entire price to start with the lessons.

  6. Students need to pay the total amount of the bundle they are purchasing at least one week before class starts.

  7. If the student does not pay for the group class, the student will not be allowed to take classes. The student can only start the lessons once they pay the entire amount.

  8. A class will only be canceled if the teacher decides to postpone a session. In such a scenario, we will ensure that the teacher reschedules the lecture to another day within the same week. The teacher and students can discuss and agree on a convenient day to make up for the postponed class. If rescheduling is not possible, the tutor will provide two lessons instead of one in any other week to balance the course. This way, students will not lose the money they paid for the class. However, the class will be asynchronous if none of the above options work. This means the instructor will assign homework to the students or record a video and give homework based on the missed material.

SEMI-PRIVATE AND PRIVATE TUTORING

Schedule

1. We will set up a schedule for each student in advance. If the student needs to cancel, they must do so at least three hours before class starts. This is to avoid misunderstandings, so there is enough time to set up a new schedule for other interested students who may want a better time for their lessons. When students pay class by class, they can cancel and postpone their sessions if they want to. Please be aware that we will still charge for the session if the student fails to cancel before the three hours. This will include the tutor's time and the reservation set up for them that another student could not use.

2. All students need to pay for their class or classes before starting and agree to not ask for refunds, even if they cancel on time or not. If a student cancels on time, they have the option to reschedule.

3. The terms and conditions referring to this section are for those planning to pay class by class and are not purchasing any offers. Please continue to the next section for the terms and conditions referring to student specials.

Student Specials

1. Semi-private classes: If a student decides to take any bundle of hours, they agree not to ask for refunds, and the student must sign and accept the terms and conditions specified, which will be included on their receipt and which they will need to sign before starting the bundle. We will send the unsigned receipt by email or mail for online classes, whichever is easier for the student, and then they should sign it and send it back. For the in-person classes, the student must sign and keep a copy, which we will provide.

1.a. If the student takes any of the eight-hour or sixteen-hour bundles, they will be able to cancel the class and move it to another day if they want to. However, they will have to let us know at least three hours before class. Please be aware that we will still charge for the lesson if the student fails to cancel with anticipation. This will include the tutor's time and the reservation set up for the client that another student could not use. Also, if the student purchases a bundle with a time limit and cannot finish the package of hours on time, the student will lose any hours remaining from the bundle, will not get a refund, and will not be able to reschedule their classes. If the client does not want to lose their hours, they can upgrade their bundle to one without a time limit or pay the regular price of the class/es the student couldn't finish minus the money the student already paid for the lesson/s. In other words, the student will have to pay the amount of money missing to complete the upgrade if they want to continue rescheduling after the package of hours expires. If they decide to upgrade the bundle of hours or pay the normal price of the class/es the student couldn't complete within the time limit, the student will not receive refunds still. This will be the same as if the student pays for school tuition, where no refunds are offered.

2. Private classes: The same terms and conditions as small group lessons apply to private classes for the bundles. The only difference is the price.

Payments and Payment Methods.

1. The student needs to pay for their first class before they can attend the next class or pay for their bundle before participating in the lessons.

2. All classes will be suspended if the student pays with a check with no funds or if there is any problem with transactions related to PayPal, money orders, or credit card payments. The student will be able to attend classes again once all the issues have been resolved.

Terms and Conditions for Private Locations

Español & English Private Tutoring (E&EPT), hereby addressed as "we" or "us." Student or client hereby addressed as "they."

1. Upon signing this document, the students and tutors acknowledge and agree to constant video surveillance while inside private locations such as apartment complexes.

2. The decision to meet in a private location is a personal choice made by tutors and students. As a result, we cannot be held accountable for any legal violations, instances of harassment, or loss of property. Additionally, we are not responsible for any accidental injuries incurred while at a private location.

3. For the safety and comfort of both our tutors and students, we suggest that they only meet in private locations if they both feel secure. If a student or tutor prefers, they may request a background check. However, either party does not need to agree to a background check. If a background check is desired, the student and tutor must discuss and agree upon the cost.

4. It is important for both students and instructors to notify us and the authorities of any violations of the law. It should be noted that any type of law violation will result in the student or tutor being unable to receive our services, as further explained in the following point.

5. If a student or tutor acts in a manner that is aggressive, bullying, offensive, threatening, or harassing, we may terminate our services and end our agreement with them immediately. We also reserve the right to terminate our services if anyone steals from us, acts fraudulently or deceitfully towards us, tutors, other students, or our employees, intentionally or recklessly damages property, is intoxicated during classes, commits criminal offenses during lessons, or is in breach of these terms and conditions.

6. We may update these terms and conditions, but we will notify tutors and students of any changes. If any part of these terms is not valid or enforceable, the remaining clauses will still be in effect. By agreeing to these terms and conditions, students and tutors also agree on any future changes. It's important to note that working independently from us is not allowed, and we must be involved in the decision-making process between instructors and students. If payments are made outside of our billing methods, we cannot be held responsible for any issues that may arise. Additionally, all services provided to tutors will be canceled if they violate these terms. Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in a student's payment not being processed, and we will not be responsible for any financial losses.
